The 2006 Aurus shows some reduction on the nose, which blows away with aeration (so afford it some decanting). The palate is full-bodied, with chewy ripe blackberry and dark plum and firm grip. But it is lacking a little finesse towards the finish at this stage, so I can only hope that it gains more tension and complexity with continued bottle maturation. Drink 2015-2025.
Commencing with the Allende Blanc, I was impressed by how well this ages. Predominantly Viura with a higher percentage of Malvasia in older vintages, it develops a fine waxy texture and almost dried Barsac-like personality.
