As readers may have noted, I have been critical of recent efforts by Pavie because of their lean, austere, malnourished personalities. The 1993-95 efforts offer little evidence that things have taken a turn for the better. Dark ruby-colored, with an earthy, nondescript nose offering vague red fruit and green pepper aromas, this sinewy, highly-structured, hard, astringent wine will dry out long before the tannin fades.
