This vintage of Pavie has developed fast. A classy and complex bouquet of spicy, vanillin oak and ripe cherries is attractive. In the mouth, the wine is medium bodied and flavorful, with a sweet, oaky component that has blended in well with the wine's fruit. In short, Pavie's 1981 is a very good, elegant, medium-weight wine. Anticipated maturity: Now-may be in decline. Last tasted, 11/90.
