The 2008 La Corte draws its fruit from a 3.4-hectare vineyard of Sangiovese with lots of sand mixed with poor clay. Vine density is 5,500 plants per hectare. The vegetal cycle was delayed by two weeks in this cool vintage, and this wine reveals an especially floral bouquet with lavender, rose potpourri, lilac and candied orange as a result. It also shows tobacco and earthy sensations over a medium-bodied finish. This wine is well along in the aging process, although the floral notes keep it in the game.
