The 2006 Il Cavaliere shows the wilder side of Sangiovese in its dusty red cherries, game, tobacco, licorice and autumn leaves. This is already quite forward and needs to be enjoyed sooner rather than later. Sadly, it is likely to always remain rustic. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2018.
