The 2007 Barolo Enrico VI, from the Villero vineyard in Castiglione Falletto, is an attractive, fleshy Barolo with good up front fruit backed up by firm tannins. The aromatic delineation and nuance typical of this vineyard is present, but slightly attenuated with respect to more typical years. Still, this is a gorgeous, flashy Barolo that captures the essence of the vintage. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2022.
Cordero di Montezemolo is one of the few estates where the 2006s are more interesting than the 2007s, with the exception of the entry-level Barolo Monfalleto.
