The 2009 Chardonnay Damaris Reserve is a beautifully layered, sumptuous wine. Ripe apricots, butterscotch, sweet spices and French oak meld together seamlessly in this impeccable, harmonious wine. The style is extroverted and racy, yet despite its richness, the Damaris avoids any sense of heaviness The Damaris emerges from the Rodgers Creek vineyard in the Petaluma Gap. The clonal blend is 64% Wente and 36% Robert Young. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2016.
I have been a big fan of the Landmark wines since visiting the winery nearly a decade ago. The Chardonnays in particular remain some of the most fairly priced Chardonnays in California.
