For years I have been unable to muster much enthusiasm for this producer's Chardonnays, so I am delighted to see how well they performed in my recent tasting. They are all high quality wines, with the Overlook cuvee possessing the most up-front tropical fruit, opulence, and richness. Although the Damaris Reserve displays more obvious new oak and is more austere, it is just as concentrated and may turn out to be a longer-lived wine. The 1991 Two Williams bottling is very good, but with slightly less personality and richness than the Overlook and Damaris Reserve. I would opt for drinking all of these Chardonnays over the next 2 years.
