The 2012 Barranc dels Closos is a blend of 60% Garnacha and 40% Carinyena (I left the Catalan spelling of the grapes here, as you might find it on some back labels) aged for a short time in oak barrels. The nose is very fruity, with aromas of ripe raspberries, a little jammy, with a fresh and light to medium-bodied palate, balanced and clean. Drink now.
This is a joint venture between Pujol-Busquets from Alella and Albet i Noya from Penedes. The young daughter of Pujol-Busquets is now in charge of winemaking.
