The young and juicy red 2021 Les Crestes made me think of a wine from the Rh?ne, with black berry fruit, spice, earth, smoked bacon and violet aromas. The palate is velvety, medium to full-bodied and has fine, round tannins. Very drinkable and pleasant. 60,000 bottles were filled in June 2022.

The young and tender red 2019 Les Crestes is an approachable blend of 80% Garnacha and 10% each Cari?ena and Syrah. It has ripe black fruit and licorice aromas and is Mediterranean, warm and comforting. It fermented with neutral yeasts in stainless steel and matured in second use French oak barrels for eight months. But the oaking is very light, and the wood feels very integrated, coming through as quite fruit-driven. They produced 40,000 bottles of this wine. It was bottled in July 2020.

The most approachable of the reds is the young 2018 Les Crestes, produced with fruit from their younger vines. The fact that this is mostly Garnacha also adds to the (relative) lightness and drinkability in a cool-ish year like 2018, and it has more red fruit and fantastic freshness, with fine tannins and very integrated oak. 48,000 bottles produced. It was bottled in June 2019 after eight months in French oak barrels.

Lean and firm, this red shows a savory side, with forest floor, tar and sanguine notes framing black cherry and cranberry flavors. Crisp acidity supports the polished texture. A bit austere, but energetic. Drink now through 2024. 504 cases imported.??–TM??Region: Spain / Priorat Select to Add

Grapes from younger vines are used for the 2016 Les Crestes, which is also released earlier. It's a blend of Garnacha with 20% Cari?ena and 10% Syrah matured in second use French oak barrels for eight months. 2016 was a dry growing season saved by a cooler September with some rain, which resulted in a relaxed and long harvest of grapes with good ripeness and acidity. It's young, tender and aromatic, a gentle Priorat with a juicy palate and a fresh personality. Really attractive and pleasant. 48,000 bottles produced. It was bottled in June 2017.
