The 2004 Piastraia is a cuvee of Sangiovese, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah. This harmonious wine reveals compelling aromatics along with perfumed red fruit in a layered, beautifully articulated style. Another year or two of bottle age should help the tannins soften a little. Anticipated maturity: 2009-2019. Michele Satta is a small artisan producer based in Castagneto Carducci, in Maremma.
