The 1998 Piastraia (a blend of equal parts Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, and Sangiovese aged one year in French oak) exhibits a complex, internationally-styled bouquet of black currants, vanillin, smoke, and graphite. Medium to full-bodied and dense, with supple tannin and a nicely layered mouth-feel, it should drink well for 7-10 years.
