The 2000 Barbaresco Vigneto Loreto, deep garnet with black highlights, opens with a big, expansive nose of dried roses, leather, and licorice, but the force is balanced by the sweetness of the fruit. Powerful, very firm and authoritative in its structure and texture, its important tannins and density will need time to come around. Anticipated maturity: 2006-2018.
