The 1996 Barbaresco Vigneto Loreto is aged in moderately large foudres. This dazzling, sexy offering possesses an opaque ruby/purple color, terrific fruit and purity, and enough glycerin and concentrated flavors to conceal moderate levels of tannin. The black cherry characteristic combined with smoke, cedar, and fruit cake aromas is to die for. This full-bodied, intense Barbaresco will get even better over the next several years, and will age for 14-15 years.
