The 2007 Cabernet/Syrah (70% of the former and 30% of the latter) exhibits loads of smoky charcoal as well as blackberry and cassis fruit, with some licorice, forest floor, and other subtle, earthy undertones. A medium to full-bodied wine with excellent ripeness and depth, it is best drunk over the next 2-3 years. Mas des Bressades has the same proprietor as Mas Carlot, with the husband and wife team of Cyril Mares and Nathalie Blanc running both estates, the husband concentrating on Mas des Bressades and the wife on Mas Carlot. These are consistently well-made wines that sell for a song, and shrewd buyers have been searching out this excellent estate as well as its sibling, Mas Carlot, for many years.Importer: Robert Kacher Selections, Washington, DC; tel.
