The 1994 Cabernet/Syrah, 70% of the former and 30% of the latter, was bottled without fining or filtration. As a result, it is an uncompromising example of just what level of fruit intensity and character can be found in a wine that can be found, where discounted, for $10 a bottle. A beautiful nose of blackcurrants and cherries is followed by a medium to full-bodied, superbly concentrated, rich, fruity, gutsy wine. The Syrah comes from a 60-year old vineyard.
