Bruno Rocca’s 2004 Barbaresco is a deceptively medium-bodied wine, yet it packs plenty of punch. High-toned aromatics, ripe red fruits, spiced and minerals emerge from this very beautiful, classic expression of Nebbiolo. Still youthful, the wine will require a few years to better incorporate its tannins, but its superb balance is evident even at this early stage. Anticipated maturity: 2009-2019. Beautiful aromas of wild raspberry and lavender. Full-bodied and very concentrated, with chewy tannins and a long finish. This really needs some cellar time.
