The 2015 Nuits Saint George's 1er Cru Les Saint Georges was showing a touch of reduction on the nose when I tasted it from barrel. That made the nose hard to read, but the palate showed superb concentration and more density than Chevillons other premier crus, whilst there was clearly firm backbone and a long, mineral-driven finish that lingered in the mouth for a over a minute. There is great potential here, although I wonder if it might ultimately be eclipsed by the superlative Les Vaucrains? What a joy to discover!
