The 2001 Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru Les Saint-Georges from Robert Chevillon was strikingly good, bursting from the glass with an expressive bouquet of blackberry, currant leaf, rose petal, grilled game bird and sweet forest floor. On the palate, the wine is rich, savory and full-bodied, with a generous core of fruit, fine-grained tannins and a long, sapid finish. This is very much worth seeking out—or checking in on, if you happen to have any bottles.
