The 2014 Gigondas Romane Machotte is another charming, medium-bodied effort from the vintage that’s ideal for drinking over the coming 4-5 years. Light red and black fruits, spice and earth all emerge from this medium-bodied, elegant, straightforward Gigondas. Made from 80% Grenache and 20% Syrah, it has plenty of character and is a good wine.

This has good depth for the vintage, with a slightly beefy feel to the blackberry and black currant notes, showing singed bay leaf and a good tug of dark earth at the end.
