The 2009 Gigondas Romane Machotte (80% Grenache and 20% Syrah aged in small oak) exhibits a dense ruby/purple hue along with notes of black pepper, soy sauce, sweet cherries, garrigue and lavender. It is an attractive, layered, full-bodied Gigondas to drink over the next 7-10 years.
The well-known firm of Pierre Amadieu has a strong portfolio of Gigondas.
