With fruit from La Morra, the Silvio Grasso 2017 Barolo Bricco Luciani reveals medium concentration and a light garnet appearance. The bouquet pulls in several different directions at once with an openly savory side, a touch of sweetness and an earthy side. You also get a whiff of fruit ripeness, with dried plum, candied cherry or Jolly Rancher. The finish is lean with some texture to the close. This is a good near-term Barolo, of which about 3,000 bottles were released.
