The 2010 Barolo Bricco Luciani brings Silvio Grasso’s Barolo line back to a place of sweet nostalgia and tradition. The overall style is modern (with rich concentration and oak-driven aromas that open the bouquet) but the Bricco Luciani cru shows heightened varietal typicity. Pressed rose, smoke, licorice and truffle rise from the bouquet. The wine’s soft contours, sweet tannins and supple texture mean it can be consumed on release or aged longer. Drink: 2015-2026. Lushly textured and vibrant, this delivers cherry, licorice, leather and spice aromas and flavors. Intense yet sleek, this is balanced, remaining persistent and solid on the finish.
