The 2001 Barolo Liste is a masculine, brooding Barolo, darker in color, and offering aromas of menthol and tar along with masses of dark, backward fruit on a large-scaled, somewhat austere frame, finishing with substantial tannins. Today this shows a lot of oak, but it also has plenty of structure, and seems to be a potentially outstanding Barolo. Anticipated maturity: 2009-2018. Importer: Vias Imports, New York, NY; tel.
