The Miserere, which emerges from an estate owned by the Pastranas, is aged 12 months in French oak casks, and bottled unfiltered. It is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Garnacha, Tempranillo, Merlot, and Carignan. The 1996 reveals a Burgundian, almost Volnay-like nose of black cherries intermixed with toasty new oak. In the mouth, the wine is medium-bodied and refreshing, with a snappy, zesty acidity, and the subtle influence of French oak. This stylish, elegant, charming wine should be consumed over the next 6-7 years.Importer: Jorge Ordonez, Fine Estates From Spain, Dedham, MA; tel. (781) 461-5767
