Brian Talley says, "2012 was an epic vintage. It had better set than in 2016. Everything was firing, and I thought, oh, this is what happens when everything clicks." The 2012 Chardonnay Rosemary's Vineyard opens with dried mushroom, gunflint and candle smoke, giving way to beeswax, honeycomb, citrus peel, baked apples, sweet spices, aniseed and quince paste scents. Medium-bodied, it opens slowly in the mouth to those lovely (and in check) reductive notes and savory layers, with tangy acidity and a mineral-driven finish. This is lovely and drinking wonderfully right now!
