The 1992 Pinot Noir Evanstad Reserve has a clear hue with moderate bricking on the rim. The nose is delectable and after 20 years in bottle it has developed a spicy, white pepper, rooftop tile and just a faint hint of artichoke. It reaffirms Robert Parker's observation back in 1994 that this does have a Beaune-like personality. The palate is medium-bodied with dusty tannin, faded red cherry and strawberry fruit interlaced with iron filings and a touch of dried blood, finishing with spicy, cedar-tinged flavors. Very fine indeed, and I suspect it will continue to age for several more years.
