Galevan's entry-level 2019 Chateauneuf du Pape is a blend of 90% Grenache and 10% Mourvèdre, vinified in concrete and aged in used barriques. Already showing a bit of brick to its hue, it offers up hints of vanilla and wet oak alongside brandied cherries and dried spices. It's medium to full-bodied and silky textured, but not overly concentrated, with a rather short finish.

The 2015 Chateauneuf du Pape offers lots of incense and floral characteristics intermixed with white pepper, cassis and blackberry jam. Full-bodied, concentrated and layered, with sweet tannin, it’s a terrific classic cuvée to buy a case of for drinking over the coming 10-15 years.

Showing the forward style of the vintage, the 2014 Chateauneuf du Pape (80% Grenache, 20% Mourvédre) comes mostly from terroirs in the northern part of the appellation, and was aged 80% in barrel and 20% in concrete tank. Its healthy ruby color is followed by complex notes of potpourri, dried flowers, black raspberries and spice-box. Medium to full-bodied, elegant with fine tannin and lots of Proven?al charm, it will drink nicely on release and have a decade or so of overall longevity.

The 2013 Chateauneuf du Pape offers lots of garrigue, spice and lavender in its core of plum and darker-styled fruits. Medium-bodied, elegant and impeccably made, it has enough depth and richness to drink nicely through 2023.
