The 2005 Galevan Chateauneuf du Pape has even more intense garrigue, kirsch liqueur, lavender, and spice box than the 2006, in a dense, medium to full-bodied, richly fruity style with moderate tannin in the finish. Give it 2-3 years of bottle age and Drink it over the next 12-15 years.
We can thank Coralie Goumarre, the winegrower and the winemaker of this estate, for these lovely wines, which I think include a couple of cuvees that may be negociant blends, but I wasn’t able to verify that prior to writing this report. Whatever the case may be, these are serious Chateauneuf du Papes.
