The 1990 boasts a terrific color, adds a chocolate note to the aforementioned aromatics, great richness and ripeness, a dense, opulent palate, and a lush, viscous, full-bodied personality. There is undoubtedly tannin concealed beneath all the fruit, but this wine can be drunk now or cellared for 12-15+ years. Given the fact that three of Spain's hottest new wines have emanated from the steep, terraced hillsides of Priorto - Clos Mogador, Clos d'Orlac, and now Clos Erasmus - it is only a matter of time before the world's wine connoisseurs begin beating a path to this remote, rugged region of northeastern Spain.
