I am not about to argue with anyone who claims this winery is making some of the finest Chardonnays in California. The almost outstanding 1989 Chardonnay-Diamond T Estate is a beautifully made Chardonnay. It is rich, full-bodied, and tightly knit, with an intriguing smell of buttered apples, minerals, and subtle new oak. Medium to full-bodied, nicely concentrated (particularly for a 1989), and long in the finish, it should evolve slowly by the standards of California Chardonnay, and drink well for at least 3-4 years.
