Forty percent of the 1999 Cuvee J Pinot Noir Unfiltered comes from the Temperance Hill Vineyard, 5% from Seven Springs, and 55% from the estate's Le Puits Sec Vineyard. It is medium to dark ruby-colored and has a spicy, black cherry-scented nose. This wine has excellent to outstanding breadth of red and black cherries as well as a distinct new oak signature to its character. It has excellent balance, loads of fruit, and a medium to full-bodied personality. It is lively, fresh, and has a firm finish that will require five years of cellaring and should hold through 2014.
