The medium-to-dark ruby-colored Temperance Hill Vineyard Cuvee J Unfiltered Willamette Valley Pinot Noir reveals sweet black fruits and toasted oak aromas. Silky-textured and full-flavored, it is densely packed with blueberries, currants, and black cherries that linger in its long finish. Oak flavors and tannins were highly present when I tasted it, but my instincts suggest the fruit will maintain its upper hand. Drink it between 2001 and 2005.
While many well-known Oregon wineries have dramatically raised their prices (despite two consecutive less-than-stellar vintages), Evesham Wood has maintained its reasonable prices. Kudos!
