In most Robert Keenan wines I have tasted the tannins have obliterated the fruit. However, this example offers a rich, full-bodied, coffee, herb and berry-scented wine that is not weighed down by excessive tannin. The palate exhibits ripe, luscious flavors, low acidity, and a generously endowed, chewy finish. I would opt for drinking this textbook Merlot over the next 5-6 years.
