The narrowly constructed, but fruity, pleasant 2008 Chateauneuf du Pape is best consumed in its first 5-6 years of life. A classic example of the region, the 2007 Chateauneuf du Pape is very Provencal in its notes of pepper, cassis, kirsch, herbs, and spices. Rich, round, full-bodied, and already delicious, it should drink well for 7-10 years.

A consistently excellent estate, Luc Perrin established this domaine in 1969. Normally two Chateauneuf du Pape cuvees are produced, but in the challenging 2008 vintage, only the traditional wine is offered.
