A big step up over the classic cuvée, the 2012 Chateauneuf du Pape Cuvee du Baron is made from 45% Grenache, 45% Syrah and 10% Mourvedre. Coming all from pebble soils, completely destemmed and aged all in concrete tank, it offers plenty of funky herbs, olive tapenade, pepper, black raspberry and black cherry aromas and flavors. Medium to full-bodied, with good density, bright acidity and a clean finish, it has outstanding potential and at least a decade of longevity.
