More textured and sexy than the classic cuvée, the 2006 Chateauneuf du Pape Cuvee du Baron offers a gorgeously complex bouquet of garrigue, exotic spices, leather and sweet black cherries. This gives way to a medium bodied, balanced and nicely concentrated 2006 that will easily evolve for another decade. While slightly behind the blockbuster 2003, this is one of the finer examples of these cuvée in the past 10-15 years.
