This is my favorite white wine from Chateau Ste. Michelle's impressive 1995 line-up. It reveals smoky mineral scents on the nose and a creamy, intensely ripe, thick, yet well-balanced, medium-to-full-bodied flavor profile packed with white flowers, pears and crisp peaches. I tasted this wine twice, once in Washington State and four months later in Washington, DC, where it appeared to have gained in weight and delineation. Anticipated maturity: now-2002.
Chateau Ste. Michelle's wines are for the most part beautifully made, well-structured and well-defined. While not all of its offerings can be recommended, it amazes me that a large operation can maintain such high standards.
