The 2012 Barbera d'Alba Superiore Pairolero exhibits a dark and toasty style with dark fruit, blackberry, bright cherry, prune and plum. The wine is aged in 15% new oak and the rest is neutral. Yet, that small percentage of new wood has done much to impart spice, cinnamon and nutmeg. In the mouth, this pretty Barbera offers soft tannins and a bright point of acidity.
