The top shelf 2010 Barolo Turne (with the gold label) represents a stylistic departure among the various wines in Silvio Grasso’s Barolo portfolio. All his other wines (in the white labels) are aged in French barrique, but Barolo Turne sees 24 months of Slavonina oak casks instead bringing it towards a more “traditional” style. Bright berry and dried cherry is followed by licorice, tar and pressed roses. It shows good complexity but needs more time to evolve. Drink: 2017-2028.
