The 2007 Barolo Turne emerges from the glass with freshly cut roses, tar, spices and sweet red cherries. This is Grasso’s most traditional Barolo. It sees extended skin contact lasting several weeks and is generally a more subtle Barolo built on ethereal aromatics and silky, polished fruit, all of which comes through in the 2007. A few more years of bottle age should help the wine find even greater focus, but it is already highly attractive, complete and beautifully balanced. Anticipated maturity: 2014-2024.
This set of reviews includes several 2007 Baroli that Grasso tends to bottle later than his two flagships Bricco Manzoni and Bricco Luciani.
