The 2005 Barolo Turne (formerly known as L’Andre) is Grasso’s more traditionally made wine that sees several weeks of contact on the skins followed by aging in cask. The wine reveals gorgeous inner sweetness and perfume in its red cherries, menthol, flowers and tar, with substantial energy on the long finish. This is a mid-weight, ethereal style of Barolo that need some time for the slightly hard edges and dusty tannins to soften, but is seems to offer plenty of potential. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2022.
