This wine opens to richness and a dark crimson appearance. The 2016 Barbaresco Meruzzano makes a big impact in terms of concentration and density, with aromas of black cherry, blackcurrant and plum. This Barbaresco is also heavy and thick in the mouth with evident tannin structure and more black fruit intensity on the finish. It is intense enough to even hold up to a bagna càuda, Piedmont's legendary garlic-and-anchovy dip for raw vegetables. The vines are a bit younger here at 20 years old. Some 10,000 bottles were made.
