Fully mature, the explosive nose of tobacco, cedar, blackberry liqueur, smoke, underbrush, and leather soars from the glass of this full-bodied, very concentrated, supple-textured wine. Delicious and still vigorous as well as expansive, Rockford's 1987 should be drunk up over the next 5-7 years.
Thanks to the persistent efforts of the American importer Dan Philips of the Grateful Palate (Oxnard, CA; tel. 888-472-5283), small quantities of Rockford wines for the first time are now available in the United States.
