The wine called 2012 Les Comes d'Orto is a blend of 50% Garnacha Tinta, 45% Cari?ena and 5% Ull de Llebre (the local name of Tempranillo) from a diversity of old vines on chalky soils, fermented in 500-liter oak barrels with malolactic and one year aging in used French barriques. A nice blend that comes through as quite balanced. With a slick touch from the oak, it mixes blackberries and strawberries, properly ripe fruit and a spicy touch. The palate is medium-bodied, with good balance and acidity as well as very fine tannins, which make it quite pleasant and approachable, although it would be even better in one year or so. 2,628 bottles produced.
