This serious, barrel-fermented Verdelho, made by a member of France’s Lurton family, comes across like a spicy white Burgundy. The estate has tamed some of the blatant oak found in previous vintages, resulting in a wine possessing pleasant honeysuckle and buttery fruit characteristics, crisp acidity, and only a subtle hint of wood. Enjoy it over the next 12-18 months.
