The medium-to-dark ruby-colored Givry Cellier aux Moines displays dark cherries, black currants and Asian spices. Medium-to-full-bodied, structured, concentrated, intense and extremely well-delineated, this wine is packed with black fruits, minerals and smoky/leathery flavors. Built to last, this impressive wine will be at its peak between 1998-2007.
As always, ratings with a score in parentheses indicate the wine was tasted from cask, not bottle.
Justifiably recognized as one of the finest producers from Burgundy's Cote Chalonnaise, the Joblot family consistently crafts Givrys that are as good as many grand crus from the Cote d'Or.
