Joblot, who made some marvelous 1988s, also made a supple, spicy, delicious 1987, which should certainly last until 1996-1997. It shows an exuberant, ripe berry fruitiness, a good dosage of spicy new oak, and a long, smooth finish. It is hard to find burgundy of this quality at this price.
This is another excellent producer who makes wines from Givry that can compete with some of the better Premiers Crus from the Cote d'Or. However, they sell at modest prices.
