Tasted at the La Romanée vertical at Domaine du Comte Liger-Belair. The 1967 La Romanée Grand Cru came from the Liger-Belair estate and it was re-corked in 1999. It has a refined bouquet with marmalade, orange blossom, tinned peach and citrus fruit. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannin, a lovely thread of acidity, appreciable tension with a gentle grip on the finish with mandarin and cardamom. This has aged extremely well, still vivacious and vital with tangy marmalade and white pepper lingering on the finish. This is a very commendable La Romanée in what was a strong decade for the vineyard. Tasted June 2015.
