I recommend the 2009 Torresilo: pure Tempranillo from Quintana del Pidio raised for 16 months in new French oak. Here, there is abundant fruit to support the oak. The nose is well defined and full of plush, dark cherries and blueberry. The palate is medium-bodied with succulent red cherries and creme de cassis, fanning out nicely toward the velvety finish that does not put a foot wrong. The oak is obvious, but very well-knitted into the fruit profile. Excellent! Drink now-2016.
